A day after finding his name at the 6th position in the West All-star front-court voting, Zion Williamson reached another benchmark. He scored his 1000th point in his trademark quick fashion, smashing records in the process.

Zion Williamson, just like Michael Jordan, endured an early career injury but came back stronger than ever. In the 2020-21 season, he bettered almost all of his rookie season figures to showcase that his ceiling is way beyond his critic’s imagination.

Zion Williamson left behind many NBA greats

In reaching his 1000th point, the star forward took just 44 games and left behind players like LeBron James, Joel Embiid, and Blake Griffin. In 2019-20, he had scored 540 points in 24 games before getting sidelined because of a knee injury. This year, he was just 10 points short of matching Shaquille O’Neal’s 29-YO record.

In the game against Indiana Pacers, Zion Williamson’s 10th point ensured him a place in the history books of the league. Moreover, Zanos has been blowing up records of former legends in almost every other match.

One reason why he was the frontcourt favorite amongst the fans and the media was his perfection inside the paint. The 6’7” forward is not very keen on taking three-point shots.

He loves to make contact, pierce through traffic, and make power dunks to showcase his innate ability to rule the rim. His field goal accuracy has been close to 60% this season.

Additionally, his figures have helped the Pelicans beat the likes of Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks, and other dangerous sides. He receives great support from Center Steven Adams and the duo in Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball, making the Pelicans a big roster to look out for.

In the game against the Pacers too, Zion, with three early blocks and 60% shooting, helped the Pelicans take a comfortable 11-point lead by the end of Q3. Do you think Zion can be the quickest to reach the 2000-point mark? Help us know in the comments.
