The Minnesota Timberwolves will host the Sunday night matchup against the Denver Nuggets. The game will take place at 7:00 PM ET in Target Center, Minnesota. This game is quite important for both sides as they have both had an underwhelming start to the season.
After making a wonderful 2020 postseason run, the Nuggets are 1-4 in their opening five games. Honestly, it’s quite a surprise as they were touted to continue their fabulous 2020 postseason run. However, due to some injury troubles, Denver is still looking for their groove early on.
On the other hand, the Timberwolves haven’t had a great start either. They are currently 2-3 and haven’t really impressed the fans till now. Which team will turn their fortunes around on Sunday night? Let’s take a look at what might be the expected lineups for both sides.
Minnesota Timberwolves injury updates and predicted lineups
In their last game, the Wolves were completely dominated by the Washington Wizards. Furthermore, they are dealing with multiple injury problems prior to their game vs the Nuggets. The biggest blow to them is the absence of their All-Star center Karl-Anthony Towns, who is dealing with a wrist injury.
Along with Towns, Josh Okogie and Jaylen Nowell are listed out as well. So the expected lineup for the Wolves is Ricky Rubio (G), D’Angelo Russell (G), Malik Beasley (F), Jarrett Culver (F), and Naz Reid (C).
Denver Nuggets injury updates and predicted lineups
The Nuggets battled against the Phoenix Suns in their last fixture. Despite a brilliant effort from Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic, the Suns defeated them by 3 points. Losing that game put them at the bottom of the barrel in the Western Conference.
Moving forward, they would need to make some amendments and get back on the winning track. However, they will have to do it without Michael Porter Jr. who is listed out for their fixture against the Timberwolves. Keeping that in mind, their lineup should feature Jamal Murray (G), Gary Harris (G), Will Barton (F), Paul Millsap (F), and Nikola Jokic (C).
Despite losing their last 2 games, the Nuggets have the upper hand on the Timberwolves. The Wolves have no answer for Nikola Jokic and he can help them get their second win of the season.
