This season, the biggest weakness for the Golden State Warriors has been their form. In one game, they demolish their opponents while in the next, they will lose to a struggling team. Tonight, fans witnessed an example of the latter case.
The Dubs faced off against the Orlando Magic, who were at a lowly 11-18 in the season. However, they still emerged victorious over the Warriors in a 124-120 matchup.
Steph Curry continued his incredible scoring form as he was just one point shy off the 30-point mark in the game.
Apart from Curry, Kelly Oubre Jr. had a productive game as well, finishing with 26 points. But the Dubs were matched by Magic’s Nikola Vucevic and Evan Fournier’s performances. This leads us to an alarming question: What’s wrong with the Warriors?
Draymond Green on Warriors’ defeat
Veteran Forward/Center Green was pretty furious after his team’s defeat. Moreover, he was quite vocal about it. Green said:
“We let another one get away. Kinda been the storyline of the season.”
A winning streak is important to boost the morale of a championship contender. But that’s the one thing that the Dubs have failed to achieve this season. Green believes the team needs to put a streak together asap.
“S—, got to put a streak together.”
The Warriors are trying to make it back to the biggest stage in the game of basketball. However, being in the stacked Western Conference hasn’t helped their cause. After this defeat at the hands of the Magic, they are at the eighth seed in the conference.
Although they are three games clear off of the ninth seed, they are not playing like a championship team at the moment. Do you believe that the team can come out of this slump in the second half of the season? Or should the Dubs give up on their dream to win an NBA Championship this season?
