James Wiseman just had the night of his life. After much speculation, the young prospect went to the Golden State Warriors as the #2 overall pick. Wiseman fulfills a major role on the Warriors team, adding the much-needed size to the roster.

It is rare that a young rookie is added to a championship contender. Due to the Warriors’ poor 2019-20 season, they were able to get the #2 overall pick in the draft lottery. But with the return of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, they are one of the favorites this season.

However, last night, news emerged that Klay Thompson suffered a significant injury to his right leg during a playaround. The extent of his injury is unknown as of yet.

Warriors fans will be fearing the worst. Thompson spent the entire season on the shelf due to an ACL injury that he suffered during the 2019 NBA Finals. His absence was a major reason for the Warriors’ sharp decline.

An injury with a long recovery time is the worst possible scenario for all parties. The Golden State Warriors will miss Klay Thompson for an extended period of time.

Additionally, another major basketball injury for Klay could significantly diminish his playing ability and raise question marks about his future.

James Wiseman says Warriors have Klay’s back

Should Klay’s injury be deemed an easy recovery, the Warriors organization and fans will breathe a collective sigh of relief. The loss of Klay Thompson could spell the end of the Warriors 2020-21 title aspirations and even the Warriors Dynasty.

Fans will be hoping to see Klay healthy sooner rather than later, as the ‘Splash Brothers’ have not been seen in the NBA for a long time. The duo of him and Steph Curry is a fan favorite, and fans would rather not wait any longer. But of course, Thompson’s health comes first.

But fans aren’t the only ones hoping for a speedy recovery for Thompson. Many NBA players took to social media to offer their best wishes for him. One of them was none other than his new teammate, James Wiseman.

While talking to the media after his drafting, Wiseman noted that while it was an emotional blow, he and the Warriors are fully behind Klay. “As soon as I saw that, it was kind of down on me emotionally. But the team, we have his back.”

Warriors fans will be sending prayers Klay Thompson’s way so that he can find his way back to the court as soon as possible. They will be excited to see the trio of Thompson, Curry, and Wiseman in action in the new NBA season.
