Both the men have reached the pinnacle of their respective sports, beating odds throughout their careers. That said, ‘CR7’ is also a huge fan of the art of combat sports.
He recently remarked about his preference in watching an MMA or boxing fight over football in his leisure time. The football kingpin is reportedly close to several MMA fighters and boxers. One of them being ‘GGG’ Gennady Golovkin.
The Kazakh-born boxer is a global phenomenon, boasting a pro record of 40 wins (35 KOs), 1 loss, and 1 draw. He is already a middleweight great. However, Golovkin’s humble personality outside the ring garners a lot of praise.
He will defend his middle-wight straps against Kamil Szeremeta on December 18th. Ahead of his big return, ‘GGG’ connected with Ronaldo to share a special moment.
Gennady Golovkin and Cristiano Ronaldo have a life lesson for all
DAZN filmed the entire interaction and posted a clip on social media. Ronaldo and Golovkin light-heartedly talked about their experiences and also primed each other on the art of their respective sports.
‘CR7’ and ‘GGG’ have come up from the bottom and bill their surroundings to have developed their characters. Speaking on it, Ronaldo said, “The circumstances that you grow up, give you your character, personality.
“We (were) born normal people, you know. We don’t born rich. So we fight for the life.”
Meanwhile, Golovkin taught Ronaldo some of his best boxing techniques. As the middleweight champion said, balance, distance, timing are the three pillars of victory.
