Renault have displayed significant improvement over the course of the 2020 season. The team has a driver lineup of a young Esteban Ocon and the experienced Daniel Ricciardo.
Esteban Ocon enjoyed his best result, P5, at the Belgium Grand Prix. Meanwhile, Daniel Ricciardo had 6 Top-5 finishes for Renault. In the last 3 races, the latter has managed to take the French team to the podium rather consistently.
After Imola, Formula 1 is going to Istanbul for the next race. Formula 1 is returning to the Turkish Grand Prix after 2011. It comes as no surprise that the Turkish fans are excited to host Formula 1.
Renault looking to make the most in Turkey
In the video, we see Turkish F1 fans getting excited after spotting a Renault F1 team truck on the road. Turkish Grand Prix could decide the championship title for the season. If Lewis Hamilton wins the race, he will have secured his 7th world title.
Meanwhile, the midfield is where the real battle rages, drivers and constructors alike. Daniel Ricciardo is currently at P4 in the drivers’ standings. The last 2 podiums have helped the Australian settle into the lead for the race of ‘best of the rest’.
Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez are right behind the Australian in the standings. The former has 85 points, and the latter, 82. The Turkish GP could see a change in the drivers’ standings as these 3 drivers go all out for the P4.
Meanwhile, Renault are on P3 on the constructors’ championship standings. Renault have 135 points, while McLaren and Racing Point have 134 points under their belt; barely a point separating the mid-field standing.
The Turkish Grand Prix will certainly shuffle the constructors’ championship by the end of next week. Renault will look forward to clinching a couple more podiums by the end of this season and finish at P3.
With Daniel Ricciardo looking to part ways with the French constructors for the 2021 season, Renault will be looking forward to welcoming the 2-time World Champion, Fernando Alonso, to the team next year. They will aim to continuously fight for podiums next season.
