WATCH: How Dominic Thiem Amplifies Training Ahead of the Grueling Tennis Season

In recent years, there have been a few names who have begun to impress. With each year passing by, Austria’s Dominic Thiem has shown constant signs of improvement in his game. The gruesome force in his groundstrokes over the past 12 months has been breathtaking. He did have a successful last year in tennis.

One of the shots which have drastically improved in the Austrian’s game is the backhand. Not many on tour use the single-handed backhand as convincingly as he does. His efforts during the off-season certainly paid off. A few weeks after the season ended, Thiem began training for the next season. In the recent past, there has been a different sense of maturity in his efforts.

Sheer Commitment by Dominic Thiem in Training

In the video below, one can see the intensity in the Austrian’s training regime. The dedication displayed by him is that of a true professional. The 27-year-old can be seen training on the beach. Furthermore, he can also be seen practicing various tennis drills. After seeing his heroics on the court, fans will realize that comes down to these efforts that he puts in with sheer dedication.

With the 2021 season commencing, the ATP stars are on their way Down Under. Dominic Thiem is going to be leading his country at the ATP Cup to be played at Melbourne Park, prior to the Australian Open. His father, Wolfgang Thiem, will be the captain for Austria. 

Dominic Thiem would wish to continue his success on the hard courts. Winning the US Open may have removed the monkey off his back. However, Thiem would want to improve on his 2020 result at the ‘Happy Slam’ too and look to go one step further in 2021.
