Five-time Grand Slam winner Maria Sharapova retired at the Australian Open 2020. It was definitely a heartbreaking moment for fans as they didn’t anticipate such a move to take place that quickly. However, what’s beautiful is that Sharapova still loves her fans and often talks to them on social media.
Recently, she took up a Q&A session on Instagram in which she tried to answer different questions from her fans. Interestingly, there were some questions that took her breath away while some took her back to her good times too.
In the session, there was a question about her best vacation so far. The question puzzled the former American player who even took some time before answering it. However, she later replied confidently.
“Really tough question,” began Sharapova. “In 2019, we saw these gorillas in Rwanda. And it was pure magic.”
She was speaking as if all those memories had come back to her. She emphasized that watching those gorillas was not less than any magic for her.
Maria Sharapova and her love for nature and wildlife
It is not long since Sharapova went on a trip to Africa unraveling the mysteries of nature. She even posted quite a lot of pictures about her trip that were a delight to watch.
She posted pictures of her jungle safari where she even got to watch a sleeping lion. The scene was of Botswana, Africa in which one could even watch a beautiful sunset after swiping right.
She next posted about the creatures she loved the most in her whole vacation. The picture was of Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda where one could see Sharapova just inches away from a big gorilla.
She also saw a leopard in the jungle safari in the same grasslands of Botswana.
It was definitely a memorable trip for Sharapova and thus, was quite hard for her to pick anything which she found the best of all. Who knows whether fans would see Sharapova go on another mesmerizing trip once the pandemic gets over!
