The NBA fraternity had to deal with a lot of pain and last year because of losing their legend, Kobe Bryant. While the whole world is still mourning the helicopter crash that took Kobe, his daughter Gianna Bryant, and seven others, Vanessa Bryant continues to maintain a strong front publically, doing all she can to keep his memory alive. And with the Hall of Famer enshrinement ready to take place, she has a surprise for all the Kobe fans.
Kobe Bryant Hall of Fame jacket
With her social media posts, it is very clear that she still hasn’t dealt with their loss. But how does one deal with something like that? Despite everything that has happened, Vanessa had made consistent efforts to keep Kobe’s fans. With gestures like providing Kobe sneakers to his fans during the lockdown. And now that Kobe is going to be honored as a Hall of Famer, Vanessa has come out with a Black Mamba jacket.
Bryant’s stellar career speaks for itself. There was no doubt that as soon as he was going to retire, he would be inducted into the Hall of Fame. His 20-year career deserves to be honored and how much he impacted the organization and community as a whole.
On her Instagram, she posted a picture of the jacket by Mitchell & Ness. Intricate details of the jacket are clearly visible, with Kobe’s iconic No. 24 and No. 8 are sewn on both sides of the sleeves. The Lakers‘ official logo is visible on the left-hand side. The color of the team, purple and gold, is lining the color and the bottom of the jacket.
The backside features the Bryant logo with the “Hall of Fame Class of 2020” written around an “M” that is in the center. The logo also has a few small Mamba snakes circling both his jersey numbers.
Vanessa Bryant and family to be part of the ceremony
With the ceremony scheduled to take place in May this year, it has been revealed that Vanessa and the rest of the family want a significant role in it. Long back, they removed the policy of family members giving live speeches. However, this might change this year.
As per the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame CEO John Doleva, “I had the opportunity to speak very briefly with Mrs. Bryant and she was very appreciative and very emotional. She has certainly indicated to be very involved. She and her family and others, in his enshrinement ceremony, when it happens.”
“People are going to want to hear about Kobe personally, not just a vignette,” Doleva explained. “Whether that’s his wife or his teammates or a combination thereof.”
It looks like Vanessa’s request will be granted, and for good reason. She and her family deserve to honor Kobe’s legacy on this big day.
