Swiss star Stan Wawrinka has had an amazing career. He has won three Grand Slams, 16 titles, and has reached a career-high ranking of World No. 3. Now, at the age of 35, he feels like he can finally retire.

I’m close to the end of my career…but I also believe I have one last push that I really want to, again, one more time push myself to the limit, make the sacrifice that you need to make to be at my top.”

Seeing this statement, one of Stan’s many fans and French actor Kev Adams wrote, “GOAT, @stanwarinka85 The Last Dance.” As many can probably tell, this is a reference to the show on Basketball legend Michael Jordan. Wawrinka was delighted about this comment and expressed the same on his Instagram story.

Stan Wawrinka trying to make a comeback

From 2014-17, things were amazing for Stan Wawrinka. He was winning major titles and his ranking was consistently high. However, in 2017, he suffered a terrible injury. He had to end his season prematurely and hence; he suffered a major drop in his ranking.

The Swiss star has been trying to make a comeback ever since 2018, but unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to bring out his best performance. However, his recent performance may indicate that he is starting to find his form once again.

Currently, fans are watching the Paris Masters, where Wawrinka cruised to a first-round victory over Daniel Evans. In the match, he played some outstanding tennis and his backhand especially was working very well.

If he continues playing like this, he can go very well at the event, which is probably going to be his last of the year, as he can’t qualify for the ATP Finals. He will want to end 2020 on a high note, and that is why he will do his best to win in Paris this year.
