It’s time for the French Open 2020-the last Grand Slam of the year. With Wimbledon 2020 not taking place and the US Open 2020 taking place behind closed doors due to the pandemic, French Open 2020 has limited the number of spectators to 1000 a day from 11,500. However, those who won’t be able to watch live will have one big advantage that live audiences won’t; they will hear some of the best voices in tennis call the action on red clay.

ITV Sport and Eurosport are the official broadcasters of the upcoming tournament. ITV4 will broadcast the daily coverage of matches. However, in the United States, NBC holds the television rights of the French Open since 1975 and will continue to telecast the tournament this year as well.

Commentators list for French Open 2020

The level of the players in the French Open 2020 is matched by the level of commentators. The list doesn’t just include commentators who were great players or match experts but those whose commentary would not let you change the channel even for a seconde.

The Former World No.1 Jim Courier has been a commentator for the past 15 years. The 2-time French Open champion is associated with the Nine Network-the official broadcaster of the Australian Open 2020.

Amélie Mauresmo

Former French Tennis player Amelie Mauresmo will also be a part of the commentary team. The 2-time Grand Slam winner is well known for being the former coach of Andy Murray.

The former World no.1 retired from professional tennis in the year 2009. Post that, she ventured into the coaching world.

Commentary will be a new experience for her, and she will try to impress the viewers with her voice and analysis this time.

Samantha Smith

Associated with the Nine Network at the moment, Smith has experience of working with BBC, ITV, Sky Sports, BT Sport, Eurosport, and Amazon Prime. She was the British Ladies’ No. 1 from 1996 to 1999.

The former British tennis player is currently associated with Sky Sports, BBC, and ITV. Petchey coached Andy Murray at the beginning of his career earlier, helping him to reach the Top 50. He also does analysis for ATP Tour Tennis.

Nick Mullins- French Open 2020 commentator

Mullins is a British sports journalist and a commentator. He began his career with BBC but later moved to ITV.

He once commentated at Wimbledon for Radio 5 live. Apart from tennis, he has been doing commentary of the Olympic Games since 1996.

He was also ITV Sport’s chief commentator at the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand and the 2015 Rugby World Cup where he commentated on the final.

Fabrice Santoro- French Open 2020 commentator

The former French player will also be a part of the commentary desk. With 2 Grand Slam Doubles titles, Santoro has also been the coach of Canadian tennis player Milos Raonic. Being a novice commentator, he will be like a surprise packet. It will be interesting to see how the Frenchman settles into his new role.
