“Something Missing”: Stefanos Tsitsipas Reveals What Went Wrong Against Dominic Thiem at ATP Finals

It was surely not one of the nights to remember for the World no.6 Stefanos Tsitsipas. The defending champion of the ATP Finals lost to World No.3 Dominic Thiem in his very first match. The 22-year-old Greek player tried really hard after being down in the first set, but he could not manage to breach the fortress of Thiem. The final scoreline of the match was 7-6, 4-6, 6-3.

Stefanos Tsistipas clearly had much more expectations from himself. He was certainly not happy with the way he lost and expressed the same in the post-match interview.

“There is something missing from my game and I have to fix it or work on it. But the atmosphere makes it tougher. I am a person that feels the energy of the crowd and I have won many matches because of the support,” revealed a disappointed Tsitsipas in the interview.

World No.6 openly accepted that absence of fans was a thing that didn’t go in his favor. He admitted that he had won many matches because of his fans and he surely missed them that day. However, he also said that there were some things that he would need to change in his game as well.
