Since Iga Swiatek lifted her maiden Grand Slam title at the 2020 French Open, her stock as a tennis player has skyrocketed. Apart from etching her name in the record books, Swiatek’s success has caught the eye of some of the biggest brands in the world.
At the end of last year, the Polish tennis star became the brand ambassador of the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer, Rolex. Over the years, Rolex has forged relationships with top players like Dominic Thiem and Stefanos Tsitsipas, with its biggest ambassador being the Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer.
Thrilled to join Rolex family: Iga Swiatek
Swiatek recently took to Twitter to express her jubilation at the prospect of working with Rolex. The 19-year-old admitted that the association with Rolex has made her reflect on her journey from a kid marveled at Federer holding Grand Slam trophies with his timepiece on the wrist to having her own timepiece.
In the uploaded picture, Swiatek was seen flaunting her Rolex timepiece while watching the ocean in Melbourne during the ongoing 2021 Australian Open.
In fact, when Federer broke Pete Sampras’ Grand Slam record at the 2009 Wimbledon Championships, he was seen sporting a Rolex watch on his wrist.
In the past, the 20-time Grand Slam champion has talked about the importance of that watch since it reminds him of the historic moment.
For Swiatek, she will get to relive her childhood memory in the truest sense if the next time when she lifts a Grand Slam trophy, her Rolex timepiece is wrapped around her wrist.
The Roland Garros champion is also the brand ambassador of Red Bull, racquet maker Technifibre, and clothing brand, ASICS. And with the way she is going, this is surely just the start.
