2009 Australian Open champion, Rafael Nadal has been mesmerizing fans all these years. Throughout his career, the Spaniard has displayed much versatility in his game. Rafa has won almost everything that’s up for grabs in tennis, both in singles and doubles.
The Spaniard has relished every opportunity thrown at him. Even in doubles, Nadal has enjoyed a considerable amount of success. Be it at the Olympic Games or the Davis Cup events, this man from Mallorca gives it his all. The commitment and fighting spirit displayed by him is one of his biggest strengths.
Rafael Nadal to land in Adelaide ahead of the Australian Open 2021
Now that the new season is almost here, Rafa will be heading to Australia soon. He is on his way to Adelaide, where he is scheduled to play at ‘A Day at the Drive’, which is supposed to be the inaugural to this year’s Australian Open. However, there are different protocols players will be made to follow as compared to previous years.
Rafael Nadal will be practicing with his former doubles partner from the 2016 Olympics Games, Marc Lopez. Besides their success at the Olympics, the pair has won at Doha and at Indian Wells on more than one occasion.
Having a knock with his fellow compatriot will be a good decision since both players will benefit from it. Firstly, the two players share a great bond and rapport with each other. Secondly, Marc Lopez is going to be playing at this year’s Australian Open, and practicing with Rafa will be a boost. He will be playing along with fellow Spaniard, Pablo Carreno Busta.
After his short stint in Adelaide, Rafael Nadal will travel to Melbourne for the ATP Cup, followed by the first Grand Slam of the new season.
