There is some really exciting news for tennis fans. Former Danish player, Caroline Wozniacki, has hinted that she might come out of her retirement and play the sport again.
Wozniacki took retirement from tennis after the Australian Open 2020 as she was suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis. Following her retirement, she raised awareness about the disease.
It was a shock that former World no.1 decided to leave the sport at the young age of 29. However, fans are really excited after what she recently said in an interview.
Asked about if she would ever return to the WTA, the former tennis player gave a witty reply.
“I don’t think so, but crazier things have happened in this life, so I’m never going to say never,” said an enthusiastic Caroline Wozniacki.
Although Wozniacki did not say anything openly, she hinted that anything might happen in the future. Thus, she never turned down the possibility of a possible comeback.
“Want to live in a relaxed way”- Caroline Wozniacki
Fans still have fresh memories of the Australian Open 2018 where Wozniacki lifted her maiden and only Grand Slam title. Her glory was phenomenal as she defeated the top-seeded player Simona Halep in the finals. Before this, she played 2 Grand Slam finals-both at the US Open and unfortunately, lost on both occasions.
In the same interview, the 30-year-old also revealed that tennis was not her priority right now. She highlighted that she wanted to relax in the meantime.
“Right now what I want is to live in a relaxed way,” added the former World No.1.
Although no longer a part of tennis, she admitted that she watched the US Open 2020. However, the presence of fans was the one thing that she missed.
After the interview, her fans certainly hope that there are chances of seeing Wozniacki back on the court soon. Maybe, they could see her lifting another Grand Slam title.
