The 2019-20 NBA champions Los Angeles Lakers are aware of the increasing competition in the West. They are clearly looking to strengthen their side by making the right moves.
Recent reports suggest that the Lakers are interested in signing Oklahoma City Thunder’s point guard, Dennis Schroder. NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported that they are looking to trade Danny Green along with their 28th draft pick for Schroder.
The Los Angeles Lakers are in advanced talks with Oklahoma City on a trade for guard Dennis Schroder, sources tell ESPN. Deal expected to include OKC acquiring LA’s pick at No. 28 in Wednesday’s draft. Deal can be completed at noon ET on Monday.

The Lakers can expect a great-playmaker in Schroder. With Rajon Rondo entering unrestricted free agency, the team needed an intelligent point guard and Schroder fits the role perfectly. LA will also be able to trade Green in this process, who massively underperformed this off-season.
Possible Trade Packages for the Lakers
The Lakers have a very busy off-season ahead. With 10 players entering free agency, they have an enormous task in hand to be the top team in the West.
They are targeting Derrick Rose. They can make a deal with the Pistons with the exchange of Kyle Kuzma. What’s more, they might have to add someone like JaVale McGee to balance out the salary demands. This trade looks much more likely to happen.
This off-season the Lakers can target a shooting big-man as well. Aron Baynes, Marc Gasol, and Serge Ibaka are all free agents this off-season, and each of them can be a great fit for them.
This would also take some pressure off of Anthony Davis. All three centers have been consistent shooters and will increase the perimeter threat of the team.
If the purple and gold are adding Schroder, they might not be looking for a trade for Chris Paul. ‘The Showtime’ are already trading 2 of their assets for Schroder.
They have also given up their 2021 draft pick to the Pelicans. The Lakers have Kyle Kuzma. They can add Caruso to the mix, and this might be enough to land Chris Paul. But the question is, are they willing to do that?
