Saturday night became witness to some really close NBA games. The Miami Heat finally listed a W, thanks to the comeback of Jimmy Butler, while games like Lakers vs Celtics and Blazers vs Bulls ended with a single-point difference. On Sunday, teams like LA Clippers and the Brooklyn Nets will be in action.
NBA Sunday Bonanza
Take a look at the eastern timings of the games, the venues, the injury updates (if any), and what all can you expect from this NBA weekend.
Clippers vs Knicks
The Clippers and the Knicks have both won their last games. The favorites to win here are definitely Clippers, but Julius Randle’s Knicks do have the potential to upset them. For the Clippers, Patrick Beverley (Knee) is out and Reggie Bullock (neck) is questionable for the Knicks.
Time and venue: 1:00 PM ET, Madison Square Garden, NY
Nuggets vs Jazz
The Utah Jazz is on a season-best 11-game win streak, sitting at the top of the WC table. It will be tough for Nikola Jokic’s Nuggets to change that if Jamal Murray (listed day-to-day) does not contribute heavily. P.J. Dozier (hamstring) will also not play against the Jazz.
Time and venue: 3:30 PM ET, Ball Arena, Denver
Sixers vs Pacers
The entire Eastern Conference will have their eyes set on this game. The Sixers will keep the top position even if they lose, which is a higher probability if Joel Embiid misses the play, given his persistent back concerns. But, looking at the Pacers’ recent performance against the Hornets, it’s evident that the 76ers have a stronger bench.
Time and venue: 7:00 PM ET, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis
Nets vs Wizards
It’s a showdown because it is going to be James Harden vs Russell Westbrook, with no Rockets in sight. The last time these two teams met, the Wizards managed a narrow victory. But with the Big three getting better in their chemistry, it’s highly unlikely that anyone apart from Bradley Beal can worry them.
Time and venue: 7:00 PM ET, Capital One Arena, DC
Raptors vs Magic
Both Raptors and Orlando Magic are struggling teams this season. For the Raptors, the news of Kyle Lowry’s potential trade is already picking heat and for the Magic, their meager offensive will stay an obstacle to overcome.
Time and venue: 7:00 PM ET, Amalie Arena, Florida
Cavaliers vs Timberwolves
The problems for the Timberwolves are seemingly unending. They have a performing asset in rookie Anthony Edwards, but there is only so much he can do. The team is ranked 30th in the league, and now they have Karl-Anthony Towns out because of protocols and guard D’Angelo Russell (quad) questionable. Cavs seem to have an easy way out tonight.
Time and venue: 8:00 PM ET, Target Center, Minneapolis
