After her first-ever Grand Slam win in 2018, Naomi Osaka has gained a huge fanbase. All of those fans look forward to seeing her compete but unfortunately, her season has come to an end. This begs the question – when will she return?
In a recent interview, the Japanese star answered this question as she said, “I would say I am going back on Tour in Australia so probably in January next year.”
Naomi Osaka In Australia
There are many tennis events played in Australia and many might wonder where exactly Osaka will play. Considering that she started off with the Brisbane Open in 2020, she will most likely begin there again. She may change her mind about this but the one tournament she is definitely not missing is the Australian Open.
This the first Grand Slam of 2021 and the Japanese star has a lot of good memories there. Back in 2019, she won the title by beating Petra Kvitova in a thrilling three-set final. She will be looking to win it again and this time, she has form on her side.
At the start of 2020, Naomi was struggling to play her best tennis. However, that changed when she arrived at the US Open. She played incredibly well and won the title by beating Victoria Azarenka in the final. She will be looking play the same way in Melbourne and hopefully, she will win her 4th Grand Slam there.
