Mick Schumacher Reveals the Advice Sebastian Vettel Has Given Him Ahead of F1 Debut

Sebastian Vettel has always adored and respected Michael Schumacher as one of his greatest F1 icons. And nearly a generation later, Vettel has turned mentor to his icon’s son, young Mick Schumacher.

Mick was recently confirmed as a Haas F1 driver, after reported links with a few more teams. But naturally, he cannot wait to start in the latest chapter of his life.

On the flip side, however, Mick also enters a world of unknown in Formula 1 and must accordingly adapt. And so he talks about a piece of valuable advice that Vettel has given him.

Sebastian Vettel told Mick Schumacher to ‘trust’ himself as he enters the world of F1

Speaking in an interview, Mick stated, “Be yourself. Trust yourself. Don’t be afraid to show yourself for what you are.” (translated from Google Translate)

What’s more, he always has a confidante in the veteran compatriot, Sebastian Vettel. So in that regard, Mick Schumacher has nothing to worry about, considering how daunting F1 seems to a few young drivers.

The young Ferrari junior will look to impress in his debut outing with Haas

‘Schumi Junior’ has enjoyed a tremendous amount of success in the junior racing levels so far. Although he took a season, each in F3 and F2 to acclimatize, his second stints with Prema Powerteam paid off in the end.

Recently crowned the F2 champion, there will naturally be a sense of excitement to see the Ferrari junior to do well. Even though he will have to work with limited resources at Haas, he can still bring out the grit and determination to do well in the sport.

Ferrari will follow Mick’s development and possibly someday, even look to bring him in to occupy one of their cockpits. But for that to happen, the young German has to retain his focus and drive with an absolute purpose for the next few seasons.

For the time being, though, it will be a case of wait and watch as we are looking to watch a Schumacher hurtle down straights after long last.
