“Miami, Call Me Crazy”: Lakers’ Veteran Guard Called Championship Finalist Prediction Seven Months Ago

The Miami Heat beat the Boston Celtics 125-113 in Game 6 to clinch the eastern conference finals series. They are now sure to advance to the NBA Finals only sixth time in the franchise history. Ironically enough, it was LeBron James who led them to four of the six NBA Finals. Now, they will face him and his Lakers in the ultimate showdown.

Both Miami Heat as well as the Los Angeles Lakers are 12-3 in their respective post-season run so far. It will be a great clash. However, earlier, most folks guessed Lakers vs Bucks or Clippers vs Bucks to be on the final card. Most, but one man, JR Smith.

The veteran Guard had some real 6th sense!

JR Smith is touted as ‘the walking meme’ of the internet. His poker face, telescopic eyes, and raw humor make him the love of social media. Back in February 2020, even before the COVID-19 pulled breaks on the regular season, JR made a crazy prediction. He was on a flight when he posted an Instagram story inviting people to ask him questions. When a follower asked him about the possible NBA Finals match-up, he replied, “Lakers an Miami call me crazy but [smiley]”

JR Smith is a great personality. He keeps getting demeaning comments on social media where people make fun of him not playing as many games in the bubble. The man is the most jovial personality that the Lakers bench boasts. He remains the first man to jump off the seat and give a high-five whenever his team posts a great play. What a team player!

Lakers vs Miami Heat: NBA Finals 2020

The Miami Heat outperformed every eastern conference team that came on their path towards the finals. They blew Indiana Pacers off. Then, they defeated the top-seed bucks in a very dominant way. And now, the side got the better of a very strong Boston Celtics.

Bam Adebayo has impressed the critics even more than Jimmy Butler in this series. In Game 6, he scored 32 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 assists. Bam became the 4th player in Heat history with 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists in a post-season game, joining the likes of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Shaquille O’Neal. It will be crazy to watch this side facing a strong defensive unit in the Lakers, where Anthony Davis waits to show his NBA Finals MVP caliber.
