Daniel Ricciardo made his surprise move from Red Bull to Renault in 2019. The Renault team is the most improved team all season. However, their primary driver is making a move to McLaren after this season.
Ferrari have failed to perform up to expectation this season. This has widely opened up the mid-field on drivers and the constructors’ championship. Daniel Ricciardo and Renault are currently leading. However, the point difference at the midfield is really slim and things can change with one race.
Daniel Ricciardo is focusing on fighting for P4 on the drivers’ championship. Meanwhile, Renault will be hoping to top the midfield and finish at P3 on the constructors’ championship.

Daniel Ricciardo focused to fight for Renault’s P3 standing
Ricciardo is fighting for Renault’s P3 position as his future team is just one point behind on the standings. Ricciardo was recently asked whether he feels awkward to be fighting his future employers for the third spot.
He said, “Not at all, not at all. I thought about this because I’ve been asked it before and I really made – and I owe it to the team and I owe it to myself – a promise to them that I’ll do everything I can ‘til the chequered flag in Abu Dhabi and there’s no fun and games.”
Ricciardo clarified that his loyalty lies with Renault till the end of the season. Ricciardo has clinched two podiums in the last three races for Renault
“And I think honestly, with McLaren watching and anyone who really cares, a real racer over there at McLaren, will appreciate and respect that. I’ll show, let’s say, the right intensity and loyalty and everything I can to Renault until the end and in my mind, that has to be respected and understood,” he further added.
It is certain that next year when the tides turn, Ricciardo will focus all his skills to bring McLaren on the top. Renault is just 1 point clear of McLaren and Racing Point. Meanwhile, the Australian will focus on bringing in a great result for Renault and ensure their P3 finish.
