The Los Angeles Lakers take on the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight. Entering their third game, the Lakers currently sit at 1-1.

In their last game, they beat Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. However, they will want to carry forward their momentum, especially after their opening night loss to the LA Clippers.

The Timberwolves, on the other hand, have had a good start to the season, winning their first two games. 2020 Draft’s number one pick Anthony Edwards has shined in both their victories. And players like D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns have had a strong start this year.

With that in mind, we preview the upcoming clash between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Lakers have significant injuries in their squad with LeBron James and Anthony Davis not 100% confirmed for the game. But they should be relatively unchanged after their win against the Mavericks.

However, at any point, James or Davis can decide to sit out a game in order to heal their body. Approaching 36 years of age, James will have to select games that he doesn’t want to play for the sake of his own recovery.

However, the Lakers will have a dominant squad even if James decides to sits out. Marc Gasol, Dennis Schroder, Kyle Kuzma, and Montrezl Harrell will be trusted with getting the Lakers across the finishing line.

The Timberwolves could be without star center Karl-Anthony Towns who is recovering from a wrist injury. Aside from Towns, the Timberwolves are expected to play their best line-up.

Both teams come into the game with good form. The Timberwolves are undefeated and have shown they can’t grind out victories against a tough opposition. The Lakers, on the other hand, were quick to bounce back after their loss to the Clippers, defeating one of the strongest teams in the NBA.

Considering the wealth of superior talent at the Lakers’ disposal, one can expect them to win this one. But the victory will not come easy for the Lakers.

This Timberwolves team has a solid young core with a sea of potential. Moreover, D’Angelo Russell still has an ax to grind against his former team which can make things tricky for the Lakers.

Prediction: Los Angeles Lakers win a close game over the Timberwolves
