Sebastian Vettel has had a very underwhelming 2020 season. Ferrari themselves have been dealing with issues regarding their power unit.
Vettel looked like he was going to secure a top 5 finish at Imola. He had a really strong race. However, soon things went wrong for the German. When Vettel came in for his pit stop, there was a problem with the front right wheel nut that lasted for around 13.5 seconds.
The German had to, once again, finish outside points at P12. He lost some well-deserved points.
Jacques Villeneuve explained what he believes is going on at Ferrari that has severely undercut Vettel’s performance.

Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc has been managing some good performance with Ferrari. Vettel explained that he and Leclerc receive identical materials. Moreover, he has always persisted to get the best out of the car and himself.
“But right now I can’t get as much out of the Ferrari as Charles can.
“I keep working with the engineers to understand this and improve the situation. So far I’ve always been able to get the most out of a racer, this year it’s different. But there is no other way than to keep working on me and the car,” the four-time world champion added.

Jacques Villeneuve believes the Ferrari does not suit Sebastian Vettel
Both Vettel and Leclerc have very different driving styles, and the car at the moment seems to be helping Leclerc more. Villeneuve believes that Ferrari is well aware of their future, Charles Leclerc.
He explains, “So my guess is that what Charles was saying was more likely to be listened to when developing the vehicle. He drives very differently than Vettel. With Sebastian you can see that he cannot push the car to its limits.”
He claims that Vettel is having a hard time trying to adapt to a car not owing to his strengths.
He further said, “I don’t think it has anything to do with the handling of the vehicle. As a pilot, you have to be able to adapt to the driving behaviour, whether you are sitting in a go-kart or driving Formula 1.”
Sebastian Vettel is currently at P14 on the drivers’ championship with only 18 points. It’s the first season Vettel has failed to secure a podium driving for Ferrari. However, he would like to keep true to his name and clinch a podium before the end of the season.
