Kevin Durant Admits Team in Transition After James Harden Trade, Lauds DeAndre Jordan’s Defense Against Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Brooklyn Nets are living up to their reputation as one of the best teams in the NBA. The Nets are unbeaten in their last four games, and James Harden and Kevin Durant are tearing defenses apart with their attack. Moreover, their defense has been in a transition, but the experience of DeAndre Jordan is helping at the post.

Brooklyn is yet to structure itself into a good defensive team as much as the offense, and Steve Nash has to balance his preferences. Kevin Durant is a terrific leader and he seems to be forming a solid partnership with his Nets teammates.

The Nets extended their winning run by edging past the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday. Durant sealed the winner after James Harden missed his shot, and there’s nothing that the Bucks could do to come back into the game.

Durant secured 30 points and nine rebounds, and he was quite pleased with how DeAndre Jordan played as well. Jordan played the second-most minutes in the game, and KD ensured that he expressed his positive remarks.

“Obviously getting more minutes. He played 38 minutes tonight and he matched Giannis minutes. We asked him to guard a two-time MVP and he held his ground. I mean, he’s gonna score his points because he has the ball, but he held his ground,” Durant said of Jordan.

KD on the importance of building a solid defense

The Brooklyn Nets are indeed an impressive defensive side, and their defensive rating ranks as one of the best in the association. The team just lost an excellent defender in Jarrett Allen, and they’re transitioning with the reinforcements.

Kevin Durant is leading from the front, and he commented on the team’s situation at the moment:

“We’re building our identity on the defensive side of the ball, and once we’re all on one page, that’s gonna make everybody better. So early in the season we were all trying to figure out our way and it can look kind of rocky when you’re doing that, but as we continue to move forward, you’ll see more of a solid play from all of us and more of an identity from our defense,” mentioned Durant.

If the Nets pick up on their defense, they might as well go all the way to the NBA Finals in 2021. At least, that’s what has been spreading like wildfire on the internet after their recent games with James Harden on the team!
