Even after two decades, the names Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal continue to dominate tennis headlines. Some of the records set by these behemoths are unimaginable for any fan who understands the rigours of a sport like tennis. On many instances, Roger and Rafa have broken their own records.
As Rafa has finally equaled Federer’s record of 20 Grand Slam titles, he looks in a better position to extend his streak in the chase for the most number of majors. Nadal will be turning 35 this year while Federer will turn 40.
Recently, Romania’s Simona Halep, like many others, heaped praise on these two legends.
Roger Federer doesn’t sweat, claims Simona Halep
Halep praised the Swiss for the stylish and sleek manner in which he commands the court. She said, “It’s a very difficult question, it also depends on what you like as a person. I can say that I like Federer more for the beauty of the game, for the way he practices this sport. You have the feeling that he doesn’t sweat, that the shirt is ironed, and after the match is over.”
The former world no. 1 player couldn’t choose between the two legends of the game. However, she did state that the Spaniard can easily claim a few more titles at Roland Garros.
Rafael Nadal didn’t lose a set at the French Open
Speaking about Rafa and his dominance this season, Halep stated, “I strongly believe that he will win at Roland Garros, it’s his home. If this year he was able to win in all the conditions that were, cold, hard ground, and he didn’t lose the set, then I see him 2-3 more. 4 years winner at Roland Garros.”
With the absence of Federer from the 2020 tour, Nadal had the edge over his arch-rival. Moreover, his long break from the game can have a negative impact on Roger’s return.
He has decided to skip the 2021 Australian Open, and the coming season will be interesting as the race for the most majors has heated up.
