Former world no. 1 Venus Williams has done wonders in the game. Often having to live under the shadow of her sister, Serena, Venus has established an identity for herself. She has held the top rankings in the game, in both singles and doubles. The American has even won gold medals on multiple counts at the Olympics Games.
Besides her success on the tennis courts, Venus has enjoyed a considerable amount of success in her business ventures. Currently, Williams is the chief executive officer of her interior design firm V Starr Interiors. Venus even has her own fashion line, EleVen.
Venus Williams: Ran a business during the pandemic
During the pandemic, Williams still managed to run her business, and she was thankful for having had an amazing team associated with her. She said, “I ran a business during a pandemic. Make that two businesses. Make that WE ran a business. The effort would have been impossible without my amazing team. They make me great, they make me better, they refine me. It wasn’t easy, there wasn’t a lot of sleep and it was scary at times, but thankfully it was most exciting.”
Venus reflected on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the manner in which people lost their lives. Given that people had never dealt with a situation of this sort before, they were not aware of how to react.
Williams stated, “Some people close to me got COVID and were just fine. Others were not so fortunate and lost their battle with this unfathomably dangerous COLD VIRUS. It took a deadly cold virus to stop the world… I hope to stay healthy, I hope my loved ones stay healthy. I hope my neighbors in this world who I have never met to stay healthy. I know we can fight and beat this virus together!”
The 5-time Wimbledon champion didn’t have an impressive run during the 2020 season, and she lost in the first round of the three majors played this year.
