The feature movie, Schumacher, has been delayed leaving Michael Schumacher fans’ hopes up in the air. The movie was delayed for the second time due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Fans have been waiting with bated breath since the announcement came out in 2019.
The movie has been in the post-production phase since May 2019. After gaining the required approval, it was slated for a December 2020 release, but the COVID-19 crisis put those plans to rest.
The Director and Producer, Vanessa Nöcker, confirmed that the film was complete when approached for a comment. Michael Schumacher’s manager, Sabine Kehm, when asked about the film said, “The film is supposed to portray Michael’s incomparable career, but also to show the many facets of a complex man.
“The merciless and daring Formula 1 driver, the ambitious athlete, the accomplished mechanic with a unique technical flair, the reliable team player and loving family man. “
The film has been put together using private footage attained from the Schumacher family. It would also feature commentary from Schumacher’s wife Corinne, daughter Gina-Marie, son Mick and father Rolf.
Die-hard fans of Michael Schumacher have been thirsting for such content. This is because he’s yet to fully recover from his tragic skiing accident that occurred in December 2013. As of November 2020, Schumacher’s condition is said to have improved; however, the status of his recovery remains a mystery.
Mick Schumacher all set to pick up the torch
Until the movie comes out, Schumacher fans will have to make do with Schumacher’s son. Mick will be making his Formula One debut with Haas for the upcoming 2021 season. After having a dominant Formula 2 Championship victory, all eyes will be on Mick.
Expectations are sky-high for him with the premature comparisons to his father. His performance at Haas is going to be closely scrutinized.
Ferrari will be taking an interest as they would love to promote him to the Ferrari seat. They would be looking to do so as they would be keeping next year’s role changes in mind.
