Following his ACL injury in the 2019 NBA Finals, Kevin Durant was relegated to the sidelines for over a year. But the Brooklyn Nets still signed him, and now he looks ready to return and dominate.

During this road to recovery, he has been leaving others stunned with his progress. Former Washington Wizards star Gilbert Arenas recently spoke about how he was blown away by Durant. He said, “The mindset is the most important. How is he gonna start the game? As soon as he comes out, he shoots the first six shots.”

Along with John Wall, Arenas discussed how Durant’s offensive ability is so elite that even when you know what he’s going to do, you can’t stop him. They also spoke about how his hesi moves are deadly and tough to read and guard.

Kevin Durant: One of the best scorers of all time

Durant’s ability to score has always been set apart from the rest. Despite almost being seven feet, he has the ball-handling ability like a guard. Along with his amazing shooting, he has shifty handles and dribbles in his arsenal. So he can create his shot from anywhere on the court, and can also set up his teammates.

This is one of the main reasons why the Warriors signed him in 2016. The Warriors needed someone who could create their own shot, while Stephen Curry would get battered by defenses. So they signed the best available player with that skillset, who went on to lead them to back-to-back titles.

Will Durant return at his 100%?

Durant suffered an ACL injury, one which has forced players to retire, taken years off their career, and has reduced their overall ability on returning. So while Durant may be doing very well in practices, one can only hope he can replicate that during the official games.

He will ease in through the regular season, where he’ll be relying on his co-star Kyrie Irving to handle the business. But come playoffs, the Nets will be expecting Durant to take the lead. He will be eager to prove that he is still one of, if not the best player in the league.
