After a disappointing 2020 postseason run, the LA Clippers finally decided to sack Doc Rivers. Since then, Rivers and Paul George have been taking jabs at each other.

PG called out Rivers and blamed him for their unsuccessful season. Doc, who now coaches the 76ers, didn’t hold back either and is back with another dig at PG13 in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.

I told someone the other day, I said, ‘Listen, everybody doesn’t love playing for me, and I’m fine with that.’ That doesn’t make them bad guys or good guys or whatever. I do my best, and if they like it …  And I joked and said, ‘Paul loved playing for me until the playoffs.’

In the playoffs, everything went downhill for the Clippers. They clearly faced some major chemistry issues, which ultimately led to a second round exit for them. However, according to Doc, he made PG a better player in the playoffs, in at least one department.

“If you look at his numbers, he got more pick and rolls than he had ever gotten in his entire career and he had his highest percentage in pick and rolls than he ever had when he was with me. Paul struggled in the playoffs. He struggled in the Dallas series. He needed somebody to blame, and I’m fine with that. Blame me. [Expletive], I can handle it.”
