The Minnesota Timberwolves have become one of the scariest teams in the Western Conference. Not in the sense that they are immediate title contenders, but that there is another super competent team in the Western Conference. The Conference is always a bloodbath, and Minnesota will look to make the playoff race a lot more interesting.
The team is built for the future but has enough talent to make a run now. They have all-star players in D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns.
They drafted Anthony Edwards with the first pick in this year’s draft. Along with that, they added former point guard Ricky Rubio back to the lineup.

Considering the team looks new heading into this season, can they actually make a splash and make it to the Playoffs?
Minnesota Timberwolves finally trend the right way
It is quite possible for the Minnesota Timberwolves to make the Playoffs. D’Angelo Russell got less than half a season to play with Minnesota and should be more integrated with the team now.
Adding young depth in the right positions was the perfect move by the T’Wolves. Russell has a fantastic two-guard next to him in Anthony Edwards. While they may struggle to get stops, this will be one offensive team.
Ricky Rubio is a veteran PG that will definitely lead the second unit of the team. Along with these changes, the T’Wolves also made 2 additional draft selections.
The first was Jaden McDaniels with the 28th pick and the other was Leandro Bolmaro with the 23rd pick. Bolmaro is expected to stay in Spain, so he will have no impact on this season.
However, McDaniels is a clever sleeper pick by Minnesota. It adds more front-court depth for a team that seems to be outshining others with their guard talent.
Considering how many call the modern NBA a guard’s league, this is the best way for them to progress. Their superstar center KAT has a lot of the skill-set of a guard in his 7-foot body.
KAT must be happy to see that his prime won’t go to waste, as the team around him is shaping up nicely. The team making a playoff push this year should be a distinct possibility in everyone’s heads. And don’t be surprised if they galvanize and actually make it.
