Naomi Osaka has already established herself as a celebrity in Japan. Her stardom is only going to rise further as she will now feature in a manga titled ‘Unrivaled-Naomi Tenkaichi’. Osaka will be the main character of this brand new series.
The word ‘Tenkaichi’ means the ‘best in the world’ or the ‘best under heaven’. The manga will be a science fiction sports action series. The storyline revolves around the fictional version of Naomi Osaka, who aims to be the best space tennis player in the world of Rocket.
The new pictures show both Naomi and her sister Mari Osaka in the series.
The publisher of the manga is Nakayoshi, which is Japan’s most popular girls’ comics anthology. Osaka’s elder sister, Mari also features in a supervisory role in the series.
Unrivaled-Naomi Tenkaichi’s key art depicts Osaka in a stylized aesthetic character with vivid pink and purple hair. She has a purple tennis racket in her hand and seems ready to take on her opponents in space.
“Really exciting for both of us”- Naomi Osaka on her upcoming series
Even Osaka herself seemed quite pleased with her upcoming series. She believed that it was a proud moment for her and her sister Mari as well.
“Growing up reading manga/watching anime was something that bonded me and my sister immensely so this is really exciting for both of us,” wrote an exciting Osaka on Twitter after the news of the Manga broke in.
It is definitely something worth applauding. At the age of just 23, Osaka has made herself a worldwide superstar. It’s all because of her consistent performances and hard work, which helped the Japanese star become an icon.
After winning the US Open 2020, Osaka will be returning back to the court at the Australian Open 2021. She has not played professional tennis for almost 4 months now. However, she would definitely try to add 1 more title to her Grand Slam title by winning the Slam in Melbourne.
